Delhi Police Recruitment 2023- Eligibility Criteria

1) Nationality/ CitizenshipCandidates must be citizens of India.
2) Delhi Constable Education QualificationThe candidate must have passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary) from any recognized school board, as of the closing date of receipt of online applications.
(Relaxable up to 11th pass only for the following categories:

i) Bandsmen, buglers, mounted constables, drivers, dispatch riders, etc., of Delhi Police only.

ii) Sons of serving, deceased, retired police personnel, including Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police.)
3) Delhi Constable Age Limit (as on 01/07/2023)The candidate must be between 18 years to 25 years old. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-07-1998 and later than 01-07-2005.
Upper age limit relaxations apply as follows:

(i) Up to a maximum of 5 years for Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category candidates.

(ii) Up to a maximum of 3 years for Other Backward Class (OBC) category candidates.

(iii) Up to a maximum of 5 years for sportsmen of distinction who have represented a State at the National level or the Country at the International level in sports during the preceding three years from the closing date of receipt of online applications.

(iv) Relaxation in the upper age limit is admissible up to 40 years for the general category (UR), 43 years for OBC, and 45 years for SCs/STs in the case of departmental candidates of Delhi Police.

(v) Relaxation in the upper age limit is admissible up to 29 years in the case of sons of serving, retired, or deceased police personnel/Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police.
4) Delhi Constable Essential RequirementThe candidate must possess a valid driving license for LMV (Motorcycle or Car) for the post of Const. (Exe.) Male in Delhi Police as of the date of PE&MT (Physical Efficiency & Measurement Test). A learner’s license is not acceptable.

  1. The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) will comprise a single objective-type paper consisting of 100 questions, carrying a total of 100 marks. The allotted time for the Online Computer-Based Test is one and a half hours (90 minutes).
  2. For each incorrect answer, a negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applied.
  3. The question paper will be designed at the Matriculation Level and will have the following distribution: Easy Questions – 30%, Medium-Level Questions – 50%, and Difficult Questions – 20%.
  4. To be eligible for shortlisting candidates category-wise for the Physical Test, the following marks criteria apply: General Category candidates must secure a minimum of 35% marks, SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates must secure at least 30% marks, and Ex-servicemen must secure a minimum of 25% marks in aggregate in the Computer-Based Examination.

The syllabus for the Computer Based Examination will comprise the following sections:

General Knowledge/ Current Affairs:
This section aims to assess the candidate’s general awareness, including knowledge of current events and everyday observations from a scientific perspective, as expected of any educated individual. It will also encompass questions related to India and its neighboring countries, particularly focusing on areas such as Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Indian Economy, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research. These questions are designed not to require specialized study in any particular discipline.

Reasoning:
This component evaluates analytical aptitude and the ability to recognize and differentiate patterns, primarily through non-verbal questions. It may include inquiries related to analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observations, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, among others.

Numerical Ability:
This section covers questions on topics such as Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, and the relationship between numbers. It also includes questions on Fundamental Arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, and more.

Computer Fundamentals, MS Excel, MS Word, Communication, Internet, WWW, and Web Browsers:
This part of the syllabus focuses on various aspects of computer usage and software. It encompasses elements of Word Processing, including Word Processing Basics, Opening and Closing Documents, Text Creation, Formatting Text, and Presentation features. It also covers MS Excel, which includes Elements of Spreadsheet, Cell Editing, Functions, and Formulas. Additionally, there will be questions related to Communication, covering the Basics of Email, Sending and Receiving Emails, and related functions. Internet, WWW, and Web Browsers topics include Internet fundamentals, Internet services, URL, HTTP, FTP, Web sites, Blogs, Web Browsing Software, Search Engines, Chat, Video conferencing, and e-Banking.
