IB ACIO Result 2024

This is the first-level exam held to hire 995 Assistant Central Intelligence Officers (ACIO) (Grade II)/ Executive for the Intelligence Bureau. The job openings were announced in November 2023, and interested candidates could apply until December 15. The exam took place in January.

IB ACIO Exam Overview

The test happened over two days, and more than 10 lakh candidates participated, hoping to become IB officers. Now, let’s see how the exam was structured.

The TIER 1 exam was done as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). It had objective-type questions, meaning you had to choose the correct answer from multiple options. There were 100 questions in this part.

For every correct answer, you got one mark. However, if you gave a wrong answer, 0.25 marks were taken away.

There was also a descriptive test, where candidates had to write answers, and it was worth 50 marks.

After the exam, the answer sheets will be checked according to the paper pattern, and a cut-off score will be decided to determine who qualifies.

IB ACIO 2024 Cut-Off Marks

Candidates need to achieve passing scores in both TIER 1 and TIER 2 Tests. Since TIER 1 is an objective type test, candidates are expected to score relatively higher marks. To move on to the next stage, candidates must score higher than the specified cut-off marks for their respective categories.

Expected Cut-Off Marks:

• UR (General): 70 or above
• OBC: 65 or above
• EWS (Economically Weaker Section): 65 or above
• SC (Scheduled Caste): 60 or above
• ST (Scheduled Tribe): 55 or above

Candidates scoring equal to or higher than the cut-off marks for their category will qualify for the next stage of the selection process.

IB ACIO Merit List 2024

IB ACIO Merit List 2024 has not been released yet. The IB ACIO recruitment process has two tiers: Tier 1 (CBT) and Tier 2 (Descriptive Exam). The Tier 1 exam was conducted on 22 January 2024, and the results were declared on 10 February 2024. Only the candidates who qualified in the Tier 1 exam will be eligible to appear for the Tier 2 exam. The Tier 2 exam will be conducted on 16 February 2024, and the results will be declared on 2 March 2024. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams. The merit list will be published on the IB website.
