A big fan of Virat Kohli, who had traveled all the way from the USA to Lucknow’s Ekana Sports City Stadium, was very disappointed when Kohli got out without scoring any runs in a 2023 ICC World Cup game against England. Many fans who were watching the game from their homes also felt the same way because they were hoping to see Kohli score his 49th century in One Day Internationals (ODI). They were surprised when Kohli tried to play a bold shot but ended up hitting the ball poorly, and it was an easy catch for Ben Stokes.

The crowd at Lucknow was quiet when Kohli had to leave the field. Kohli was out after facing only nine deliveries, and this news of his early dismissal was all over social media, making his fans sad.

Kohli came in to bat after Shubman Gill was dismissed by Chris Woakes with a tricky delivery. Woakes made Gill attempt a shot, and the ball went through his defense to hit the stumps. Gill also got out without scoring any runs.

Despite this disappointing match, Kohli is still one of the leading run-scorers in the tournament, with a total of 354 runs. In the 2023 ICC World Cup, the 34-year-old Indian cricketer has managed to score three half-centuries and one century.
